Who dental implants are for

The process

1

Consultation & planning

We examine your mouth and take 3D scans to plan your implant placement. We'll explain exactly what to expect at each stage.

2

Implant placement

We surgically place titanium posts into your jawbone. Don't worry—you'll be comfortable with local anesthetic or sedation if needed.

3

Healing period

Your bone grows around the implant over 3-6 months. This makes it super strong and stable. We'll give you a temporary tooth to wear.

4

Crown attachment

Once healed, we attach a custom crown to your implant. It looks and works just like a natural tooth.

What to expect

Week 1: Consultation

Comprehensive exam, 3D imaging, and treatment planning.

Week 2-3: Implant surgery

Titanium post is placed into your jawbone. You'll receive a temporary tooth.

Months 2-6: Healing

Your bone fuses with the implant. We monitor your progress with checkups.

Month 6+: Final restoration

We attach your permanent crown and complete your new smile.

Common questions

Does getting an implant hurt?

Most patients report feeling little to no pain during the procedure. We use local anesthetic, and sedation is available if you're nervous. After surgery, you might have mild soreness for a few days, but over-the-counter pain relievers usually handle it.

How long do dental implants last?

Dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care. The crown on top may need replacement after 10-15 years, but the implant itself rarely needs to be redone. Brush, floss, and come in for regular checkups.

Am I too old for dental implants?

Age isn't usually a problem. As long as you have good overall health and enough bone density, implants can work for you. We've successfully placed implants for patients in their 70s and 80s.

What if I don't have enough bone?

If you've lost bone density, we can often do a bone graft first. This builds up the area so it can support an implant. It adds time to the process, but it makes implants possible for most people.

How much do dental implants cost?

The cost varies based on how many implants you need and whether additional procedures like bone grafts are required. We'll give you a detailed quote at your consultation. Check our pricing guide for typical ranges.
